A {Rainbow} of Oscar Dresses

So, I thought I'd list my Oscar dress picks, in the form of a rainbow!  Altogether now...

Red: so so much red on the RED carpet.  I couldn't choose a winner in the red category, so here are my fave four.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino - sumptuous.

Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang - cute poofy bit of fabric on her derrière (why can't remember what it's called?  I had an ickle one on my wedding dress.  Love them, whatever they are).

Twilight's Anna Kendrick - I don't know who made this dress, but it's cute as a button.

And finally, Selena Gomez (the Beiber's girlfriend) in Dolce & Gabbana.  Very chic.

Moving on with the rainbow!

And yellow:  Florence Welch in a beautiful Valentino dress.  I think this is strictly ivory in colour, but artistic license allows me to call this yellow for the purposes of this post.  Yup.

And pink:  erm no pink, unless you count Elton's shades...?

Actually, maybe I'll put Mila Kunis' {ah-maz-ing} Elie Saab Haute Couture dress in the pink category.  I think this is possibly my favourite and most coveted dress of the night.  It would make a wonderfully unusual wedding dress, don't you think?

I like it so much, I'm going to stick another picture of it in here...let's go to town.  Can't get enough of it, frankly.

And green:  erm, couldn't find any green either.  Pink and green are NOT to be seen.  Everyone, throw out all your pink and green stuff - it's clearly naff!

Purple: the lovely Natalie Portman - really loving the train on this.  I'm all about a train.

And orange:  look at how fantastic Jennifer Hudson looks!  She certainly chose a dress (Versace) to be noticed in - good for her.

And blue:  struggled a bit with blue, clearly not due to be a hugely popular feature in 2011.  However, here's Marisa Tomei in a midnight blue, vintage, Charles James dress, which I thought was a good effort. Loving the tulle (another common feature this year which I whole-heartedly approve of).

I have to say that I thought the dresses this year were all pretty amazing.  No glaringly obvious bloopers from what I've seen - perhaps a bit too much black (why wear black when you have a rainbow of colours to choose from?), but that's horses for courses.

I hope you liked my {RAINBOW} selection.  I thought I'd leave you with my outfit choice for the Oscars, yes, that year I won an Oscar.  As you can see I went for the ever-so-modern, grey, with a splash of red, dahlings...

...tee hee x
